Why don’t I have water pressure only in my kitchen sink?

I have plenty of water pressure in my bathroom and have already checked the water meter and there doesn’t seem to be a leak. I also checked the shut off valves under the sink and everything seems to be in order. so why don’t I have much water pressure only in my kitchen? It just started a few weeks ago. Please help!
I took some of your advice and tried cleaing the screen and that didn’t work either- grrrrr! This is frustrating.

some rubbish may have been caught inside your kitchen sink that dont let water come easily…take a look at that.

some faucets have screens screwed onto the end of them. if you’re in a hard water area sometimes lyme will collect in them. just unscrew the screen, rinse it out, and replace.

the best advice i can give u is to call a professional..before it’s too late……….good luck………..happy swimming……………

you may have a build up of mineral deposits in your pipes decreasing the water flow. Also, if your pipes and vent pipe is not angled properly and free of obstruction it will decrease pressure. The distance of your lines in relation to the pressure tank plays a role.

Because if you only had it in the kitchen sink, you wouldn’t have it anywhere else in the house.

I had that problem once and I had to unscrew that little piece at the end of the spigot arm. Once I did that, and washed it out, pressure came back. There was a little bit of sand like substance caught there in that little wire mesh. Try that….hope it works.

If it is a washer-less faucet you may have junk caught in the valve of the faucet also if there is a spray hose the mechanism that diverts the water to the sprayer may be also clogged, I would try a cheap faucet replacement to see if it is the faucet if so use the cheap replacement for a few days soaking the other faucet in lime-away having it taken apart as far as you can get it.

it could be a hose because I had the same thing at my apartment and the maintence replaced to hoses and now it works fine

It’s obviously a blockage somewhere and the only method is to start from your initial point of entry and work you way up to the faucet.
Turn off the shut off valve for your cold water, under the sink, remove the hose or pipe. Using a bucket, under the valve, open it up, and see if the water pressure is good. If it is, then the next step is the hose. Disconnect it, and make sure its free of any obstructions. Blow through it or run some dowel or coat hanger through it.
It the hose is fine, then all that remains is your faucet.
These are fairly easy to take apart, after you have the water shut off. Check for any dirt or blockage.
If the pressure is low in both hot water and cold water, it will be somewhere in the faucet. Particularly if its a one handle one.
Good Luck.
