What is this weird smell coming from my kitchen sink faucet when i turn the water on?
Today when i turned on the kitchen sink i got this extremely strong smell up my nostrils. I can really only smell it when i turn the water on. It’s almost like a very strong, wine-like smell. It is not a comforting smell though so i would like to know what it is.
The drinking water comes from three wells.
And I can’t really tell if it’s the water or coming from the sink.

Is tour water supply from a wel or from a municipal water source. A rotten egg smell can sometimes be present in either. Get your water tested if in doubt. A ph of between 6.6 and 7.2 is generally accepted as within the normal range, low end acidic, high end alkaline. Smell in the water does not mean it is undrinkable. Draw off a pitcher of water from the tap, let it stand for a while, the odor should disapate.
You can determine if it is the tap water or the sink trap by drawing water from another source such as the bathroom. Does it smell? If not, pour it down the kitchen sink and see if the smell is there. Sometimes a sink trap will let odors back into the house while draining. If it really is your well water, minerals in the water can cause different odors. Sulfur being one of the most common and also one of the worst smelling. A water sample test at a local lab or college is not expensive.
if you have a dishwasher hooked into the drain line- the water going down the main drain will cause the vapor of the dishwasher to be drawn over and the smell to go up

call your water company and tell them about the problem. they probably have to come out and flush the hydrants in your area…youll be suprised how fast they come and do it..
