Is it rude to brush your teeth in the kitchen sink?

Me and my boyfriend were visiting friends of mine and while one of the friends was in the shower, my boyfriend decided to brush his teeth in their kitchen sink. It had dirty dishes in it and he wasn’t going to take them out. I told him to wait until the bathroom was free. He got mad because whenever we’re at someone’s house, I advise him on etiquette every now and then, but only if it’s something really offensive. I do it kindly but he still gets defensive.

Is it just me or is it gross or rude to brush your teeth in someone’s sink without first asking permission?

It’s disgusting.

I think its rude and digusting with those plates in there…

I would ask first..

I’d think so, especially with the dirty dishes in the sink. It’s gross enough washing dishes, but with someones toothpaste spittle on them… eww. He could wait a few minutes to brush his teeth.

Well someone else’s sink is definitely wrong cuz there were dishes and stuff.
My mom tells me this sorta thing all the time but I’ve never actually brushed at the kitchen sink but I guess it’s bad.

who dosen’t do that?

OH MY I would be insulted if someone brushed their teeth in my kitchen sink. THAT IS GROSS!!!

Thats not too bad but I draw the line when company takes a dump in the cats litter box.

It’s not a matter of permission, It’s a matter of sanitation, all that germy bacteria from his mouth onto their dishes. This is one of the most disgusting issues I have heard in a long time….No one should use the kitchen sink for anything other than rising vegetables and fruit and doing the dishes….

I brush my teeth in the kitchen sink all the time when my partner is in the bathroom. But i wouldn’t if there were plates in there….that’s a bit gross.
